ProLogis Park 70-Etna Building Awarded LEED® Green Building Certification

Building #3 in the ProLogis Park 70-Etna Industrial Park in Pataskala, just outside Columbus, Ohio has been awarded LEED® Silver certification. This honorable certification is bestowed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) on buildings that are found to meet standards with energy efficiency, lighting, and water use, as well as material use and site selection by the USGBC. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operations of high performance green buildings.

Building #3 at ProLogis Park 70-Etna has been acknowledged as the highest ranking USGBC Certified Distribution Center in the state of Ohio. Some of the sustainable features that were incorporated into this building include:

- 40% more energy efficient than standard warehouse buildings

- The use of skylights to maintain 25 foot candles of pure daylight over 95% of the floor area

- 63% more efficient lighting design than typical for this type of building

- Over 1 million gallons of storm water is recaptured every year for reuse on the site

A ceremony took place on October 14th for the presentation of the building plaque from the Columbus Chapter of the USGBC. It was the first LEED® building certification plaque ceremony for the newly formed Columbus chapter.
